Our 'special' desks stay open and 'persaude' those pesky, 'mega bucks' occasional fliers to queue for a machine instead. Well, that's possible of course, but seems unlikely somehow. Oh how I wish we could have 'FT Members Only' desks at every airport!
I would imagine that most FTers would use online checkin instead ot the kiosks. Of course, this can't be used for international fliights, but neither can the kiosks, and then the desk is the only option.
