Seems that if you play with dates you can get HNL-IAH non-stop with the shorter hop in a 737 to GUA...
This example is $879 but cheaper dates can be found...

Guatemala City ain't fun but it's an hour to Antigua a lovely colonial city and easy access to the Mayan Ruins in Copan, Honduras as well as Tikal near Flores...
