On that note, I might also add that were Alaska leadership to officially state that the airline is in a very serious financial situation and as such, the minimization of inflight meal service would go a long way toward helping the airline out in that regard, I'd be totally onboard, up to and including the eradication of meals on flights under 3.5 hours.
It's implausible to me that Alaska is saving a material amount of money by not rotating the meal (sandwich/wrap) choice. Fuel and labor are by far the biggest costs, as well as all the fixed operating costs. I would be surprised if catering F breaks 0.1% of overall costs. The incremental cost of rotating through four sandwich choices would be infinitesimal.

C'mon, it's a business. They aren't a charity or a non-profit. Their job is to maximize revenue and profits for their shareholders, and if treating customers and employees right helps them do it, they will do it. But they aren't going to spend more than they have to, nor should we be expected to, nor expect less of them.
