When was this rule created? My spouse got an AS card about 14 months ago and quickly met the minimum spend for the companion fare. She canceled it a couple months ago, right after the anniversary companion fare showed up in her account. Does this rule apply to the first companion fare code, which expires dec 31 2020?

EDIT:
To answer my own question, it was apparently applicable to all companion fares issued after October 1st, 2019
