Process was very easy - did the Walgreens rapid test on a Monday morning for a Wednesday afternoon departure from OAK -> HNL. Had results within 30 minutes. Uploaded to the Safe Travels site and was automatically deemed "Covid Negative".
Upon landing - took 1 minute for rep to scan QR code and verify ID and quarantine exemption status was updated immediately.
As a perk, there were 8 people out of 175 on the return flight from HNL to SJC! Plenty of room to social distance!
Did you test in the San Jose area? I know Walgreens does 3 types of tests across the U.S.
- RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel Test - NAAT
- Rapid Point-Of-Care (POC) Test - NAAT (ID NOW)
- Rapid Point-Of-Care (POC) Test – Antigen (BinaxNOW)
one comment in this site said that Walgreens only does the PCR test in the Bay Area. I called two Walgreens in the bay area and both only did the PCR test. Only the RT PCR and RT POC NAAT ID NOW r approved by Hawaii, I did not see the POC Binax test listed as approved, the site states only NAAT tests are approved. The POC Binax test is not a NAAT test. The PCR and POC NAAT ID NOW take 1-3 days to return results according to Walgreens. The POC Antigen Binax test is returned the same day. Which test did u take where u got results in 30 min? I would love to take the faster POC NAAT ID test in the bay area.
