Lt. Governor Josh Green said today they were planning to tweak the program by not allowing those who pre-travel test without test results to ever get out of quarantine.
So if you board your flight to Hawaii and still don't have test results from a test within 72 hours of departure, you must quarantine at your expense in COVID-approved lodging for 14 days even if a negative test result comes in during/after take-off. And once in Hawaii, these travelers would not be able to test-out during their stay.
Apparently too many positive travelers are coming into the islands positive but without test results.to confirm their status.
Basically they are is saying, no test results don't bother to travel to Hawaii. Seems a bit harsh given the requirements. I am testing this Saturday and will be handed my results at the time of the test for a flight to KOA on Sunday AM. While my wife is doing the same some family members just cancelled saying they didn't want to deal with the issue of not being able to get the test in a timely manner AND have results in hand.
