No funny PA announcements, but I'll never forget the last-few-seconds aborted high-speed take-off at HJR. Brakes came on full force, and plane veered hard 90 degrees to the right while still at high speed, in order to get off the runway and onto a taxiway.

Reason for aborted takeoff: a cow had lazily wondered on the runway. (In India, cows have right of way everywhere, including on airport runways, apparently.) We had to wait an hour for the cow to decide that the grass was greener off the runway than on it before attempting another takeoff. That, and for the brakes to cool down.

I did see the subject cow. Didn't even flinch when the plane was coming towards it at full speed. It knew it has the right of way over planes. Probably a few planes had to circle overhead and wait for the cow to vacate the runway also before landing during the hour it decided to just stand on the runway and watch the sky and airport, before moving on to greener pastures (literally). No one ever went to bother the cow. Everyone patiently wondered for it to make its own choice when to move on.
