I have a redemption ticket for a flight in less than 24 hours, and the website won’t let me book a seat for my wife.

it also won’t let me check her in, because it says passport information needed (which is not true but it might be saying because she needs a visa check).

the twitter team told me “I can see in our system that you have selected seat X. There is a request in the booking for seat Y for your wife. At this point, we would be unable to adjust the seating on the booking as the seating is now controlled by the airport. If seat Y is available, the airport will confirm this. If now, then you'll be able to select different seats together at the airport.”

is there really no way I can book a seat for my wife? I don’t want to risk having to sit separately on an 11 hour flight....
