Just stayed here 3 nights. Nice area, lots of good F&B nearby (Bistro Niko was walkable, Le Colonial was a short drive, Nan Thai was an excellent upscale spot on the way to the aquarium).
Hotel itself is old but not *too* dated feeling, other than the bathrooms. Used points, 9k/night after rebate (vs. $179++/night), TSU confirmed into Grand Suite, had room #1102 . Room was fine, always nice to have a truly separate sitting/working area, and this had two solid doors between that and bedroom, meaning wife could rest without having to listen to me while I took calls.
F&B open, gym open (but not the sauna or steam in the nice gym bathrooms), pool closed for season.
As globalist, received free valet (prompt and courteous), breakfast in restaurant (limited selection but surprisingly good quality lox/bagel, pancakes, bacon, poached eggs, etc., and all from menu, which is nice), and a $25/day credit towards the bar (at checkout, agent simply took off $75).
All in all, a very solid use of points & Glob perks. Make sure to take a walk through the Japanese garden on the third floor during daylight hours.
