Thanks.... That all makes sense. While mildly disappointing that the MVP/Gold/75K bonuses don't go to EQM for status, having them go towards RDM is pretty nice and I am starting to see the appeal of getting status.

I've never flown enough to worry much about status but some life changes are turning that upside-down in a hurry. I just made MVP last month and should reach gold by the end of the year. My first impression is that the AS program seems very generous but I really have nothing to compare it to.

So, just to be sure I have this all straight....

EQM for status = (base miles + any fare bucket kicker) X 1.5 for current promotion

RDM for redemption = base miles + bonus % for MVP/Gold/75K
