And what would happen as far as a hotel is concerned in the Maldives? Where would they put me?

And in terms of proof. I don’t have any that I’m working other than my camera and the videos I will be filming. Do we expect BA will just query me on my travel? Not expect proof?

And lets say they didn’t believe me and they wouldn’t let me board then would they rebook me?
I'm guessing here. I'm looking at a similar trip, but without the business angle.

The return flight is an unknown quantity at the moment.

I would guess, and it is just a guess, if your flight home was delayed then you would initially pay for the hotel and would then try to claim it back from BA or your travel insurance. I'm not sure that BA would be that interested in how you came to be at check-in. Any breaking of the rules is down to you, it may be that BA are required to ask if you are travelling on business, but equally they may see it as not being their job to police regulations.

Re-booking a flight is generally in advance of check-in, if they denied you at check in, then you would need to phone to rebook and see what BA will do, I doubt check in staff are going to re book passengers.
