This is my first time using AA basic economy and I am unable to check in online, is this expected?
It's a cash basic economy domestic US ticket, all AA metal, one-way , all bought on aa.com. I have no status. Flight isn't oversold.
Flight leaves within 24 hours, and under Manage Trips I don't even see a checkin button to be able to check in. I called AA and they said it's because I have a basic econ ticket with seat unassigned, but I wanted to ask here if this is correct/expected because this just sounds like agent is wrong? I should still be able to have the option to check in online for a straightforward basic economy cash domestic US ticket within 24 hours no?
