After speaking with Delta about what happened, they now blame the travel agency for not confirming the ticket with both KLM and Delta. This was done via Chase Travel. I will make sure to collect 600 euros + expenses from Chase/Expedia on this one, if they are in fact responsible. As per Delta's rep on the phone, Chase Travel offers special pricing on tickets that need to be confirmed differently than they were.
