They also added the passport/ID number to be stated on the PCR negative test. When I flew, this was not a requirement.

You need BOTH the PCR test (to be shown at check-in of your first leg and randomly at immigration in MLE) AND the upload of the said PCR test on the IMUGA website. Other info will be asked as well (how you're arriving, where you're staying, how many pieces of luggage you're carrying). Once this is submitted, you instantly get a QR code that needs to be shown at check-in but also in MLE.

But yeah... things keep changing so I wouldn't worry too much about it now. Check again 2 weeks prior to your trip. I'm not kidding they are always changing the rules but hey, that's the same for almost every country around the world now.

Oh and if this can help: on my return flight (MLE-DOH on QR), a bunch of us had a 10h wait between our transfer to MLE and our flight so our host (in this instance it was a scuba diving live-on-board operator) could book us a day-use room in the capital ($70 per room + $20 return transfer per room) BUT you cannot leave the hotel premises, you're basically stuck in your room until the transfer back to the airport.
Thanks for your detailed feedback on this!
