Has anyone thought that it could have been BA has known it all along???

BA occasionally does publicity stunts in the UK with special fare offers like GBP100 return for a Concorde ticket, or giveaway tickets for the first 1000 callers to anywhere in the world on some special anniversary occasion.

Rather than give away the tickets flat out.. what better way than to place this fare mistake and still take 15 quid as a processing fee?

BA might still be the winner in this situation after all.
