Thank you for trying to help me, Silver Fox! My number shows up fine and so do the Devices (just Web in my case). GV actually lists all the calls I've made through Hangouts.
My number is not a true GV number. It was ported from AT&T. Could that be creating some problem...?
There is one setting that's disturbing. Under Calls/Outgoing Calls, other people have a slider (saw a screen shot somewhere) and I don't. That's what it looks like:
