Can't imagine why TSA would be more likely to search a checked bag if it contained a screwdriver than not. But, even if it does, not really an issue about which you should worry.

While I don't know of any place that would prohibit a scewdriver in checked luggage, you would need to check the rules for the country you are visiting for rules on return. Or buy the cheapest ones around and if you have to toss them, you do.
