I read somewhere that the primary and backup control cables were found to be too close together on the MAX. If there was an uncontained engine failure, there was a danger that both cable sets could be severed.

It then became apparent that this was also the case in the 737NGs...

That one seems to have gone very quiet - I guess because it would cost a fortune to rectify.
