I got the following email today. Apparently the digital card replaces the plastic one instead of being a supplement. This is a TERRIBLE change for Gold or higher. During COVID-19 obviously there is little need for plastic cards but if and when the situation ever clears up the card will be necessary in certain cases.
"As we announced earlier, Finnair Plus plastic membership cards are being replaced by a new digital card in the Finnair App.

Now we invite you to visit the Finnair app and start using your new card right away!

The new digital cards have numerous advantages, such as immediately updating when you reach a higher tier and they never get worn out. Plus, cutting plastic cards is better for the environment.

You can still use your plastic card, but when it expires a new plastic card will not be produced."
