  1. You will not be approved for Sapphire Preferred while holding any Sapphire card (Reserve, Preferred, Classic).
  2. To fix this you can downgrade Sapphire Reserve to: Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Flex, or Slate. It does not matter of you already have the same card, you can hold more than one of those. The points balance will be preserved by the downgraded card.
  3. However, you will also not be approved for Sapphire Preferred until 48 months after your most recent Sapphire new account bonus posted. The date you opened the account is not important. Lookup the date that you received the bonus points.
