MLG,

I think BA are now doing OK.

Have ticket and don't think you'll be able to fly / don't want to fly: get a future travel voucher.

Try and keep the business going: persuade the owners (i.e. the shareholders) to cough up billions of pounds.

It takes weeks to schedule staff, re-arrange catering, fuelling etc etc. So keeping stuff in the schedule for as long as possible, to make a return to the air as quickly as possible, is fully understandable.

Governments also change their minds frequently - not just Boris or Donald! So very difficult to plan schedules.

There will be special arrangements for aircrew. For example: A neighbour was one of three sets of crew on a Virgin flight to Shanghai - basically one crew flew out, one back and one did the cruise. All stayed on board during the few hours they were in China.

It's a hard time, and no-one is perfect - and that includes large organisations and governments. The good thing about BA is that, in many respects, it is allowing us to make our own decisions.

If you can't fly somewhere, it is usually because that place does't want you - not that BA won't fly you (albeit a day or two late)
