It has a detriment: you lose the ability to get the Freedom Flex's sign-up bonus. Whereas nothing is lost by PCing to a Freedom; there are no sign-ups allowed anymore.
I haven't thought about this before, but do the new CFU and CFF earning rates apply to the old Freedom as well? I'm referring to 3x dining and drugstores, and 5x on UR travel portal purchases.

Debatable? The Mastercard World Elite benefits that the Flex brings to the table are fairly clear.
