I do everything I can via SM: adjust CL, move CL between cards, close cards, request credit balance refunds, add/remove AUs, etc. My philosophy (somewhat Draconian I admit) is to avoid conversations with Chase lest it lead to awkward questions.

Yes, but unless you have very few cards with Chase or keep your CLs at a bare minimum, you'll likely have at least a few thousand dollars to play with.
