IHG Hotels Insolvencies / Bankruptcies

The times are tough and many hotel face financial problems. Most of the IHG hotels are franchises and the company running the hotels are going bankrupt or are insolvent. However, this does not necessarily mean the hotel will close. Without going too much into details in many jurisdictions this does not necessary will close. The hotels will remain open and operate as usual. Most likely, as this of course means liquidity is reduced.

This could (not necessarily must) mean that certain benefits are longer provided. At least in German Law a new booking at a hotel with is under insolvency protection means that you are safe if it comes to cancelations. if you have a booking prior to the opening of the insolvency protection which has been cancelled, you are unfortunately not secured.

This thread is about hotel and franchises, which are under insolvency protection, but do still operate. I have decided to open a new thread, as the tread about new and closed hotels does not really fit.
