Improvising a footrest

What lengths have you gone through in improvising a footrest in Y, esp. during those long, transatlantic flights?

For those times when I'm too miles-strapped to afford an UG into J's reclining seats, I'd elevate my feet with my steel-toed workboots, flipped on their sides, with some success. Sometimes, when the seats in front of me are unoccupied, I'll rest my feet in the crevice in between the seats.
