Just flew from BOS to LHR and on to INV in Club. A few thoughts on what was a $4200 ticket....

The food was utterly abysmal. About 20mins after take off we were handed a tray with a wrapped ham sandwich, a couple of cubes of cheese and that was it. The sandwich was completely stale. Wine and champagne are available, but both came at room temperature and in plastic cups. Service was very limited (I guess to limit contact) despite there only being 8 of us in the cabin with no one checking in on you at all. I understand they are trying to limit contact, but the quality of the food was atrocious. I just cannot understand why they cannot get caterers to do a really nice big salad with some protein and some kind of desert, delivered to you with covers on, on one tray. Also, the amount of waste the entire process is producing is heart wrenching. Again, I don't understand why serving a single tray on china isn't possible, and likewise why they insist on using plastic cups. Why and how does this make this safer?

On the LHR-INV leg the contents of the grab bag was actually pretty good- a very fresh and tasty coronation chicken sandwich and a chocolate mousse. Again, why this couldn't come on a tray with covers on beats me and again, plastic glasses all round. The crew however were much much more friendly and attentive than on the trans Atlantic.

Headed back in a few weeks, but think for my ongoing travels across the pond this year I am going to take my business to Virgin.I know we have bigger things to worry about in the world at the moment, but given the fares, and that I fly from Boston back and forth, the value for money on BA just isn't there at the moment.
