The interesting thing is that BA had reduced catering in order to minimize contact with the cabin crew and the passengers ( according to their view ); although it's surprising that from travel experiences that I read, mostly the crew tries their best to keep passengers satisfied which means that there is no change in the number of interactions with the cabin crew and the passengers.
Just wanted to mention this as this could be a different approach to the situation.
Quite - on a recent flight the CSD spent a not inconsiderable time spent kneeling in the aisle next to passengers chewing his ears off about the crappy sarnie, run out champagne/wine etc.
He was quite the trooper - this could be avoided by loading the old hot meal trays (some of which were really quite decent, e.g. the chicken curry) and enough booze carts, given leisure travellers drink quite a lot more than the usual up-front punters
