My wife flew on BA57 last night. She said it was almost full, but had an empty seat next to her in Y (last row, so a pair). BA had disabled online checkin, presumably to check all documentation - she had a private Covid test on Monday (£275 for guaranteed result in 24h - eek!), and had the availability to quarantine in her brother's flatlet in Centurion. Also travel insurance was difficult, as very few policies allow travel to FCO "all but essential" destinations (the company we used mainly insure aid workers, journalists in warzones, etc!)
SA immigration was fine, noone asked her about anything - and there were only 2 in the SA Citizens queue.
She'll head down to Durban by air in the coming days.

My understanding though is that there is no quarantine requirement if you have a negative COVID test and don’t show symptoms on arrival? And that SA citizens don’t need to have travel insurance?
