Seems like Accor may be quiet on the PR front, but not stopping the expansion activity - the new addition to the 4x promo is the Mercure Chur City West:



Located in a tower on the outskirts of the relatively small city, it is nonetheless an attractive proposal thanks to being located in a new highrise (one of the few around), which affords some spectacular vistas through its large windows. Apparently, it has only 49 rooms, and the reviews of the hotel under its previous, non-branded identity seem quite favorable.

Chur is both the capital and portal to the Swiss canton of Grisons, home to both Switzerland's least-known official language, Romansch, and famous Kurorts, such as St. Moritz and Davos. This is also where many of the famous panoramic trains through the Alps, such as the Bernina and Glacier Express, start, as well as a convenient base for a quick excursion to the remote diminutive Principality of Liechtenstein, nestled between Austria and Switzerland.

Chur is a little over an hour by train from Zurich (add 15 mins from ZRH airport), and I am happy to have this option waiting for me for my next summer trip to Grisons, as the only Accor property in Chur thus far has been the (apparently not bad either) ibis sitting in a pyramid-shaped building shared with a McDonald's.
