I wouldn't jump to any conclusion about this being the same for everyone, but I find that a bit more physical motion involved in a visual review process definitely works better for at least some people -- myself definitely -- than a bit less physical motion during a visual review process.
It's similar for me. I prefer multiple screens to one larger one as well. In addition, I've continued to print out the final draft of any writing project that is lengthy (more than two pages) for review rather than make final revisions on screen. A review in a fresh format helps me pick up errors or poor language better than one more review on a screen.
