Let me on!
Have yacht in Costa Rica. Purchased round-trip ticket from Costa Rica to LA. AA refused to permit boarding on return leg (back to C.R.) because of Timatic information specifying passenger must have "return or onward tickets". Forced to purchased another ticket (bought it on American West). American West contacted immigration and said if I had proof (letter from marina) they would let me aboard in a similar situation. However, AA refused to call immigration and insisted that I must buy an airplane ticket. Talked to customer service at headquarters, but no joy.
Now have $550 ticket that AA takes no responsibility for (and will not be used). AA did not disclose this policy before purchasing the ticket. AA insists that they are correctly interpreting Timatic information.
Any suggetions other than taking AA to court?
