My dilemma the other day was that the Visa is mine, while the wallet money was in my wife’s account, an reimbursement error on Alaska’s part from a previous reservation that apparently couldn’t be taken care of easily.

For our new reservation, I couldn’t use her wallet money, but then turned it upside down and had her use my companion code, and that actually worked, maybe because we are each other’s companion and she’s an authorized user on the Alaska card, to which no money was charged.
