I booked the Prince for a few nights the end of the month (today they officially join Marriott). Paid rates are pretty reasonable (for now). The other Kyoto properties are 2-5 times the price per night.

I asked about Platinum benefits and the person had to some checking. She came back and said Plats get breakfast, green tea welcome drink, upgrade to suite if available. Not clear if there is a happy hour and lounge snacks or not.

We stayed at the Westin during the renovation. Good service and great breakfast. Location also decent and they have a shuttle bus. Unfortunately with the category upgrade I won't be able to use my annual free night there again.
