I wanted to make a standalone post for the topic, though of course, it may be merged elsewhere if more appropriate.

Kyoto now has RC, Suiran, Mitsui (new LC), Westin Miyako (newly renovated), and Prince Kyoto (new Autograph collection).

I happen to have five days booked for Kyoto, as a Titanium member, I absolutely want to try RC. But I also want to try Suiran or Mitsui. Especially Mitsui (we absolutely love the interior design shown on the website).

We got enough points to splurge but only five days. How to split?

After wards we will head to Tokyo (and staying at the newly opened Mesm) for three days. If must I can shorten our Tokyo stay to two days...

Not our first trip to Japan, I'd say my main goal is to enjoy the hotels, the food and sightsee at a very leisurely pace.
