There is a link to a YouTube video on the Tahiti tourism website that explains the self testing and how it administered.
What it does not explain anywhere is what would happen if you test positive from the self test. Do you quarantine at your current hotel? Do they require you to move somewhere else? What costs are associated with any of that- etc....
ive seen people say they “heard” you are required to pay for a medical flight to a government facility On the main island and on other websites/forums I have seen people say they were told it would be quarantining in their current room. Again, which is true and what costs would a traveler be responsible for?
ive emailed the tourism board with this question- as to what would happen if a traveler self tested positive- and I have not gotten a response.
