My wife just left a beloved (and expensive) Chanel bag on the plane, complete with all her credit cards and ID. She realized it about an hour after we deplaned, long after we left the airport. About three days after leaving my iPad on a flight into ORD two years ago, I received a call from ORD baggage lost/found without having filed a claim. They asked a few identifying questions, upon which I was welcome to pick it up at my leisure. I was very grateful to UA for the efficient handling. I friend of mine in DEN had similar experience. Good luck to your wife!
