As mikeyfly says the basic blue BA Amex is free so if you currently have the BAPP downgrade to the free card. You will get a pro-rata refund of the £195 fee as well. I believe at the moment you have to call Amex or can do it via chat.
Excellent tip; had my speediest / cheapest voucher this year by planning big spend - charged £195, spent £10k - voucher triggered - card downgraded and £181 refunded
You can’t do downgrade by live chat unfortunately this has to be over the phone
