One thing I forgot to mention. The first agent kept asking me why I hadn't changed the flight on Iberia.com. I told her that when I tried to I got an error, read out the error message. She said that it should be possible to change any Avios flight on Iberia.com and she would report the error to IT. I kind of got the impression that she may have waived the change fee because I couldn't change online, but I got cut off so I didn't find out.
The agent was clueless as the IBERIA website has never offered the option to change Avios awards online.in my experience.
