You will not get free upgrades to first class on AA based on your Alaska MVP/MVPG status. As an MVP/MVPG you will get free upgrade coupons for domestic NW flights that sometimes work.

very impotant to note -- if you book via AS website you can still use comp MVPG upgrade on the AS operated portions. if you book via the AA website, you CANNOT use any upgrade in advance on the AS portions (just stand by at the airport)...i found this out the hard way
