What is difference between canceling/changing & rebuying for saver and main fares?
I understand that the change fee has been eliminated for all Alaska flights until the end of the year. However, I don't understand what the difference is between the way saver fares and main favors are handled.
With both, I can now cancel the ticket and deposit the value into my wallet. With the main fare, I can change the ticket but I must pay any fare difference.
How does that differ from a saver fare where I would just cancel the ticket, deposit the value into my account wallet and then buy a new ticket at the current price? Aren't I paying the exact same fare difference in both cases because both hypotheticals consider the new fare?
