Question about (repeatedly) recheduling/cancelling FFN res
I looked around and didn't see anything that might answer this (I apologize if i missed it?). I have questions about reschedule policies/penalties for FFNs.
I have a FFN that I'm hoping to use at Santa Rosa, Ca or Monterey, CA. Problem is that, due to my job:
-The only day of week I can even think of getting out of the city is Saturdays, so I am limited to Saturday nights.
-On any given weekend, the probability of me being able to get out of town is about 20-30%, and I generally don't know until Friday afternoon. So, I will likely have to cancel a couple time if I am able to use the FFN at all.
I currently have a booking two weeks out for the Monterey hyatt. Problem is, they have a two day cancellation policy, but there's no way I can know my availability two days into the future. And, apparently my stay is secured by my credit card, not my FFN, so if I don't show instead of losing my FFN, I'm on the hook for big $$$.
Questions:
1.) I think there's some way to get around the two-day cancellation policy by being able to do a same-day rescheduling? Is this true?
2.) Can a FFN res be cancelled if it has already been rescheduled (by following strategy in question #1)?
3.) Can a Monterey FFN reservation be rescheduled to Santa Rosa, or must it be rescheduled to the same location?
4.) Does anyone know whether late-fall availability is generally better at Santa Rosa or Monterey? (I'm not even going to try Carmel)
5.) Are there any other policies or strategies that you would recommend?
Thank you very much for your help!
