I loved flying SFO-NRT on the 747-200s in the early 2000s. As mentioned above the upper deck was considered WBC but they kept the old first class seats there, 3 rows of incredibly spaced out, cushy barcaloungers that went almost fully flat. The service wasn’t bad either and I was bummed when they switched it for a DC-10 which eventually drove me to fly UA and their 744s. Some of the best airline sleep I’ve ever had was in those upper deck loungers.
Don't blame you... I personally hated the WBC seats on the NW DC-10s
