I just booked our family of four on web specials with AA miles to Hawaii in June. But there is a chance that DH won't be going, so I bought the insurance for the flight. As I'm researching more, I'm thinking this may have been a waste (I can get the money back still). The fine print says that I can cancel and get miles reinstated, but fees may apply. But I can't find anywhere that says what fees may apply. I wasn't sure if this was part of the "book before Dec and there are no fees" thing or if it's different b/c it's a web special. Does anyone know with a reasonable amount of certainty? And, if there could be fees, does the insurance even cover flights paid for by miles? I haven't read the fine print yet as I'm in a weird head space right now and can't focus. Thanks for any help/advice.
