I just got an E-mail from Delta this time saying the flight has been canceled. I am waiting to speak to Delta as I type.
I have an earlier thread where I discussed how the flight I bought from Deta for the very good price of $306 (LED-MSY) got canceled. OK, so it should be that if there is any way to book a flight to MSY, no matter what the cost is, Delta will let me use the CONTRACTED TICKET to get the final destination. However, it seems that Delta doesn't have the ability to fly from anywhere from Russia.
My flight was for departing LED on OCT 20.
OK, an update. I did confirm with DL that I can use Aeroflot, Air France, KLM, Alitalia & Virgin Atlantic. Staying in a hotel is not a problem at MOW (i.e., since I'm already in Russia, and the prices are cheap) or at LHR, whereas I am only limited to air-side hotels for the other airports - or even at JFK since I am an American (cue the flag ...) And since my original plan was to stay at a painfully expensive air-side hotel at AMS, that could pay for 2 hotel stays street-side (or whatever the opposite of air-side is).
So now I just have to piece together an itinerary that comports with my body clock.

DL has not served Russia for a good long time. However, here is a list of DL's current interline ticketing agreements. It includes SU, S7 and BA.
