I'll ask for apologies up front if this has been answered but I couldn't find it in the Wiki:
I'm holding J award tickets for CLE-TLV next Spring which includes a couple segments on LO (irrelevant other than a longer routing one direction). With prices going down for buying a ticket, I'm considering buying the tickets, probably in W class, as PZ space is available right now in all of the flights of interest and I have a whole bunch of PlusPoints that potentially could expire anyway. Wouldn't have to stop in Warsaw, either. There's a chance this tour my wife and I are signed up for could cancel if the COVID-19 situation doesn't improve. With our current award tickets... no big deal. If I go the purchase route and need to cancel but rebook for, say, the following year, is there any protection against a substantially higher airfare on the same route?
If the answer is "no" then I'll just keep the award tickets and not worry about digging into these PlusPoints. I suppose I could always convert as the trip gets closer and is certain to go if PZ is still there along with the attractive fare.
Many thanks in advance for your comments.
