I know I'm too old when my immediate reaction was to think of what I flew on NWA back in the late '60s. On my puddle-jumper routes in the Upper Midwest, the bird of choice was the DC9. Longer segments were 727. MEM didn't become a thing until after merging with Republic in '86.
Mmmm...NW didn't fly DC9s until the Republic merger. NW, alone among the pre-dereg trunk lines, never bought twin-engine jets, preferring 727s because of the high-altitude stations in MT. And now I'm showing my age!!!
