Just to add - I think you've made a good choice of hotel. Some folk on here don't like it, but having stayed there a couple of years ago I was very impressed.

The club floor was great (we upgraded with Starwood points a few days before arrival). There's some reasonably priced eating places in the River City Mall next door, and there's also an excellent Thai restaurant just down the road - excellent food and frequented by the air crews who stay at the Sheraton - it's called Harmonique. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing prices (especially when compared to the Sheraton ) and about 5 mins walk away - 22 Soi 34, Thanon Charoen Krung - near the post office.
