I got a little nervous because everyone started publicizing later that day how Amex was sending out clawback emails. For now, it seems to still be working as long as you're not asking for a refund from Amex, aka double-dipping.
Worked before on my Amex Gold (see quoted post). Trying now on my Amex Platinum. Will update through the process.
MON 9/14 - Selected WN as airline; about 30 mins. later, purchased one-way ticket for $99; about 1 minute later, canceled flight opting to 'hold funds for future use'. Then, did the same previous step but for a different date, another OW ticket for $99. ($198 total in my Southwest travel fund.)
THUR 9/17 - Meter moved; same day, credit posted for both purchases of $99.
That was fast!
