I think BA is only up to about 4 or 5 night stops across Europe, which is nowhere near LH. BA's schedule is, unfortunately, a disaster in comparison unless you want to go to tourist spots leaving LHR in the morning bank. Business destinations have been all but wiped, I'm afraid - one rotation per day doesn't cut it. I would happily fly BA more in the recent weeks, but they have made it impossible to do so, whereas LH has created a really nice transfer operation at MUC, and dare I (grudgingly) say it at FRA - and they have slightly increased the MCTs at FRA to handle this and any associated paperwork/temperature checking etc.
BA have got several things right in it's approach (lounge offerings, ease of refunds/changes etc), but their schedule leaves a lot to be desired.
From a US perspective, Lufthansa's schedule is less appealing than BA's. I'll confess not taking into account short-haul Europe, but as you say, Lufthansa just reinstated many of these flights.
