Hampton Inn - Perrysburg, OH had a "grab and go" breakfast but it was not the pre-prepared bags, which I think are worthless. Laid out on the big table in the breakfast room were bottles of water, cereal bars, bagels, cream cheese, cereals (individual servings), milks, hard-boiled eggs (two eggs each in covered cups), some sort of pre-packaged coffee cake, Activia yogurts, mango and berry smoothies, bananas and oranges, and yogurt + blueberries + granola mixed in a cup. The latter was quite good. You picked up a bag and helped yourself. Coffee and tea was available as normal. Overall I thought it was a good compromise. I often don't eat the hot stuff anyway. I would have appreciated some actual orange juice.
They said they originally tried the pre-prepared bags but folks would go into them and fish out individual items.
I was disappointed that the two snack items for HHonors members were not available. The desk clerk said they weren't being supplied and that members were to get 1,000 points in compensation. When I expressed some skepticism he laughed and said he had no idea how or where the points would come from. The stay and normal points posted to my account, with no extra 1,000 points.
